4.5 stars!!! I've read several books by Rachel Blaufeld, and this is one of her best! I had such a good time reading this book. I didn't want to put it down. Honestly, it's the first book in a long time that I read in one sitting. Unputdownable, fun, sexy, and sweet- Hot for His Girl is a book you don't want to miss out on! Andi was a failed mommy blogger when it was all the craze. It didn't work out for her, but she still needed a way to support her daughter. So, she decided to take a new spin 4.5 stars!!! Andi was a failed mommy blogger when it was all the craze. It didn't work out for her, but she still needed a way to support her daughter. So, she decided to take a new spin on the blog. Andi is the snarky and sassy Unaffectionate Blogger. She's the girl you love to hate and hate to love, but under this blogging alias, she is a good person. She meets Reid randomly, but she knows who he is. Reid is also a blogger, but he doesn't blog anonymously- even if his work wishes he would. Reid Fellows runs a fantastic blog called Grill and Groom. Where you guessed it, he grills shirtless and talks about men's grooming. Reid is also a college professor who's being pressured to make his blog anonymous or quit it all together. That's the last thing he wants to do. Reid's blog makes him happy. He doesn't know what he wants to do so he asks advice from the one blogger he thinks will give it to him straight and may be able to help. The Unaffectionate Blogger. Reid and Andi's meetcute was adorable. I loved watching them get to know each other and I especially loved watching Reid with Andi's daughter, Gabby. So freaking sweet. Though this book was hella entertaining and fun, it kept me on the edge of my seat with the angst that was building up. I couldn't put it down, waiting for the other shoe to drop. I knew Reid was going to eventually find out who Andi was, I just didn't know when or how or if she would get to tell him first. I love Rachel's emotional books, but Hot for His Girl shows readers she can write amazing rom-com as well. If you're looking a fantastically funny and all around great read, check out this book! I loved it!

Andi is a single mum who makes a living blogging. Her writing has become popular due to its sassy style and brutal honesty. She is the UnAffectionate blogger. Being nice in the blog world didn't pay her bills. In real life her speech is more censored. She loves her daughter and blogging means she doesn't have to work the 9-5. It's hard work but pays the bills and gives her freedom. She keeps her real life and her online life separate until her sister asks her to check out a new man blog. Now she's more addicted to the internet than she was before and her real life is suffering. Reid blogs for fun. It started as a dare and he enjoyed it enough for it to become a regular feature. Grill and Groom is Reid's baby. He likes to share his Grill cooking recipes and his sculptured body. Reid day job is in education. He's a statistics professor. He doesn't want to hide his identity but some of his pictures are a little saucy (not x-rated). This reminded me a little of You've got mail, only Andi our leading lady is the Tom Hanks character and Reid is the pretty Meg Ryan. The writing style includes blog posts. Andi isn't the most loveable character. She is hardworking and a mum blogger. She meets Reid and Andi ends up having two relationship with Reid (Clark Kent style). This book takes an interesting look at the blogger world. It can be harsh, it can be fun and a connection to more. 3.5 stars out of 5. It's different but also made me think about blogging in a negative light. I love talking about books but also wouldn't criticise someone's opinion or lifestyle choice. Everyone is different. *I received an ARC in exchange for an honest opinion.

And I have to say I really enjoyed the book. I was hooked from the first page and found it to be fun and sweet, and though relatively low on angst and drama, it had just enough moments of frustration to keep things interesting until the very end. I really liked Andi, even when there were times where I wanted to reach into my Kindle and shake a little (or a lot of) sense into her. She was burned, badly, and while it could have totally crippled her, she pulled on her shitkickers and did what needed to be done for her daughter, and I have nothing but admiration for her in that respect. But she does have walls and while I don’t blame her at all, they blind her to quite a few things, including herself. Reid is hard not to love. I mean the man is laid back and yet underneath that is a stubborn determination that screams alpha AF male. But what got me was his honesty. The sincerity in his words, and more importantly, actions, made it easy to fall for the man and be #TeamReid, at least in most cases. Andi and Reid’s journey was a sweet and awkward journey, but overall it was a fun one. I won’t deny that there was a good amount of eye rolling going on as Reid charmingly bulldozed his way into Andi’s life (with the help of Gabby and Leona) while Andi waffled between her need to be an island and wanting to go all swoony over Reid, but it also kept me turning the pages to see what would happen next and while I didn’t get a that deep unabiding connection from them, I did see something that could grow with time. As for the big elephant hanging out in their relationship. I’m on the fence on how I feel about it. While part of me feels that Andi should have come clean about being the UAB, I also get why she didn’t because trust comes in many forms and she trusted Reid with what was THE most important part of her world. And as for Reid and his reaction. I also don’t blame him at all. He gave everything and to expect the same in return is something I understand, so hence the fence. The other thing is that I wish there had been a bit more grovelling. I don’t mind a relatively simple reconciliation, but I just needed a little more in the end. This was my first read by the author and I was hooked from the first page. The writing was engaging and I enjoyed the dual first person POV’s. As for the secondary cast of characters, Gabby and Leona were a lot of fun and I loved what they brought to the story. So, if you’re in the mood for a romance more on the sweet side, then this is the one for you! ~ Copy provided via NetGalley & voluntarily reviewed ~

She is popular enough to make a living that supports her and her daughter. Her ex is a deadbeat guy who walked out on them when Gabby was still a baby so they have been going it alone since then. One night out trick or treating with Gabby they knock on Reid’s door. Andi recognises him instantly as he is another blogger she has been checking out lately because he does vlogs of himself cooking on the bbq. Often without a shirt on which is most likely why he has such high appeal with his followers! Over the next few weeks she bumps into Reid a few more times, they do live in the same neighbourhood but Reid thinks it must mean something. Like fate is pushing them together or something so he convinces Andi to give him her phone number. Andi finds it hard to believe that a guy that looks like him is interested in someone like her but he is slowly convincing her otherwise. The fact that Reid is amazing with Gabby is a huge bonus and the absence of a daddy in her life means she soaks up any attention she gets from Reid. When things begin to get a bit more serious between them Andi has several opportunities to come clean about her pseudo life. The longer she keeps this secret between them the harder it is to tell him. Reid is the best thing to happen to Andi & Gabby and he definitely is feeling like these two girls are going to be a big part of his future. Now she just needs to have faith in what they are building together and open up as much as he has with her. This was such a lovely story, easy to read, not too angsty and lots of cute moments ☺

Altogether, the couple plus one kid and one noisy neighbor, built a relationship that had the perfect mix of sweet and sexy. I loved Reid's infatuation with Andi, it was refreshing to see the guy overwhelmed and head over heals for someone else. And he is very persistent, which is good when Andi gets to tied up in her head. As a blogger myself, there were so many parts to relate to - the pressure to be creative and increase views, anonymity vs. prominence, maintaining a life outside blogging, etc. And I was intrigued in how Andi struggled with the direction of her blog, despite its success. The only thing that bothered me about the story was why Andi kept her blog a secret for so long. She had so many chances to reveal the truth, that dragging it out just made it worse. On top of that, I was surprised by Reid's reaction. A bit over the top. But the whole drama added some angst to another wise light story. Overall, this was a fun and entertaining read. I hope to see more from the author in this sub-genre of romance. *An ARC was received for an honest review. For more reviews, visit

I loved Andi's sassy/snarky blog posts as for Reid's grilling posts I'm guessing were drool worthy, but, unfortunately this wasn't a picture book so I'll have to take Andi's word on that. Andi is a single mom who's ex left her in the hospital after their daughter was born...WHO DOES THAT?!?!? Anyway, she needed to do what she needed to do in order to make money to keep a roof over their heads and food in their fridge so when her mommy blog wasn't doing well and she saw her snide comments on an anonymous blog she was doing was taking off she ran with it and it worked for her. But it was a secret from just about everyone, only her sister and brother-in-law knew she was The UnAffectionate Blogger, and this can pose a big problem for you when you get involved with someone. A very big problem! I really enjoyed this story on so many levels. I think most bloggers would get a kick out of this book and relate to it in a couple of different ways. I would recommend this book to everyone that enjoys contemporary romance that is a bit on the spicy side, I wouldn't recommend it it anyone under 18 and I believe I read somewhere that the author says this is an adult book and she's correct. Happy Reading!!!

I try to date as a single mom, and his getting jealous of not getting to spend time with her, when she was with her daughter was such a real life moment, that I have dealt with so many times. When you date a woman with a kid you don't get to be first. I loved how Reid helped Andi to start to take time for herself and not just spend the time cooped up in her apartment with her daughter. He made her a better woman and mother. But. Sometimes Andi had me beating my head against the table, want to flip through the book because she was keeping a secret and I *needed* her to tell him. I was frustrated. I can't say I wouldn't do the exact same thing as her but DANG IT! Hot for His Girl by Rachel Blaufeld is one of the best single mom books I've read in a while, with relateble character, perfectly balanced with comedy and angst. It's not to be missed by the hustlin' mommas out there!

While I thought this book had funny moments and the banter between Reid and Andi was on point, I did get lost in the inner monologue of the characters quite often and failed to feel their romantic connection at times. Another issue I had was at times I felt like both characters were talking to us (the reader) which was very disconcerting. I did love Reid's sweet and swoony interactions with Gabby, Andi's daughter, and his open and sweet personality. All in all, while this wasn't my favorite novel by this author, I will still continue to read her original and smartly written novels! 4 stars! ~Ratula *** Hot for His Girl is my first book by Rachel Blaufeld, so I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. What I got was this charming, smart writing and an equally charming, sweet, adorable romance. I was sucked in immediately. Honestly, the first third of the book almost played out like a movie for me: a deliciously addictive romcom. The kind that offers up flirty banter and sparky chemistry in spades. The kind that causes little butterflies to take flight in my belly, and my eyes to morph into those ridiculous heart eyeballs. It was impossible not to get sucked into this fun, fresh storyline! It did move very quickly - it's not an particularly long story, and there's a little bit of "insta" going on here. While I found the characters adorable and heartfelt, I did sometimes feel like I was missing a bit of how the emotions got so attached so quickly. However, that didn't keep me from jumping right on board and attaching myself to the cuteness of this story. Because it was cute. And heartfelt. And completely rewarding - if a little predictable - in the end. In all? I adored Andi, Reid, and the precocious Gabby. Hot for His Girl was a simple, sweet, funny and fresh romance. I had a ton of fun losing myself in this story and will definitely be back for more from this author! ~ Shelly, 4 Stars

This was an adorably cute and laugh out loud funny read. It was filled with lots of sweet fluff and steamy heat to fill your romantic heart. This was a feel good book with little angst and originality. A fun and enjoyable rom-com different than Rachel’s previous works. You’ll fall in love with Reid and Andi.

I thoroughly enjoyed Andi and Reid's story and I look forward to reading more from Rachel soon. But, back to Hot for His Girl now. I really liked both Andi and Reid. Would I ever run a "mean" blog like Andi's? Absolutely not. Did I appreciate her snark and calling out the less-than-truthful bloggers out there? Heck yes. She had a great perspective on things. And I could totally understand why she started this particular blog, given the way members of the community treated her in the past. Reid was super freaking swoony and his blog, Grill and Groom, on which he posted videos of him grilling shirtless and talked about grooming, seems like an entertaining blog. One both men and women would find satisfying, if for different reasons. 😉 Of course, things got a little complicated here because Andi and Reid met in real life while they were emailing, in a non-romantic way mind you, and Andi was the only one who knew the truth. I had to know it would cause problems with their budding relationship once he found out. But, I'm not going to get any further into that. You can find out what happens for yourself. Just know it's a really good story. I loved the romance, the maturity of the characters and conversations they had, and the characters overall. Oh, and Andi's daughter, Gabby? Flipping adorable. I loved the connection between her and Reid nearly as much as I did the romance between Andi and Reid. Hot for His Girl was a great introduction to Rachel's writing. I didn't want to put this book down once I picked it up. It was part rom com, part swoony romance, with just a bit of angsty feels mixed in. I've never read a book where both the hero and heroine were bloggers, so that was unique to me. As a blogger myself, I found some of the blogging-focused tidbits really interesting. I guess I never thought about just how much blogging becomes part of who you are, even if you're not in the big leagues like Andi or Reid. But, I digress. This was a great read. FAVORITE QUOTES Here's the thing most people don't get. For us, the people of the web, relationships made behind the screen are the closest thing we have. We live in and on our devices. This is the second time I've equated Reid to chocolate goodness. I should eat a candy bar and get over him. “Who grills shirtless? And who looks that good while he grills and writes about It? This guy could be a model, so why's he peddling himself as a blogger?”

I am a big fan of Rachel's work. The premise for this book is what really hooked me. The parts that really annoyed me was Andi keeping her blogging a secret from Reid for most of the book - still don't get why that was such a big deal for her - and how Reid reacted when she finally came out with the secret. Aside, from those two things, the book was enjoyable. The banter and witty comments were enjoyable and helped keep the story from feeling too blah. While I enjoyed it the for the most part, there wasn't anything that really wow'd me and had me really loving it, hence the 3 star. He was an adorable geek who loved his blog. They kept running into each other and Reid wore Andi down (with the help of the cute daughter and nosy neighbor). Then Andi made a mountain out of a mole hill. I'm still not sure why she didn't just tell him. He loved her blog and was in contact with her alter ego about it. I 3 stars. I got really irritated with her nonsense. It was not that big of a deal. And then when Reid found out, he reaction was WAAAY over the top. How, exactly, was he a pawn??? Very confused. This was a good concept with an interesting view into blogging. However, the execution of the plot was tepid. Check out the blog for other reviews:

Running two blogs myself, I was excited to be able to relate to the main characters. Running two blogs myself, I was excited to be able to relate to the main characters. And I totally did (Though I wish I were as successful at blogging as either one of them!). “Here's the thing most people don't get. For us, the people of the web, relationships made behind the screen are the closest thing we have. We live in and on our devices.” Andi Schwartz (Italian mom, Jewish dad - I loved that!) is a single mom who supports her daughter by running an anonymous blog that’s like a snarky TMZ of the blogging world. After her mom blog didn’t take off, she found that being snarky really worked and The Unaffectionate Blogger was born. Andi takes her anonymity very seriously and almost nobody knows who she really is. When her sister turns her on to a guy’s blog called Grill and Groom, she is fascinated. “Who grills shirtless? And who looks that good while he grills and writes about It? This guy could be a model, so why's he peddling himself as a blogger?” Reid’s blog is doing well and he loves doing it, but he is a college professor and his bosses are not happy about his blog so he is thinking about going anonymous. He emails The Unaffectionate Blogger about her experiences and kind of develops a little crush on her based on her writing. Meanwhile, a Halloween meet-cute happens when Andi meets the blogger of her fantasies in the flesh. "It literally happens to me. My whole body rides the wave of brushing fingers with Reid, and I swear, he smiles. A small knowing smirk turns up each corner of his mouth as he takes the mutilated cup. I want to hand him my vagina. No, no, no. I can’t do that." This turns into kind of a You Got Mail situation as Andi tries to keep her blog a secret while dating the guy who is writing the anonymous blogger for advice. Did you follow that? Sigh…I really loved Reid. And I liked Andi a lot until she let it go on way too long. As someone who tried to blog anonymously, I know the toll leading a double life can take. I hated feeling like I was lying to people so I came clean right away. So while I LOVED the first half of the book, I started to not like her because she kept lying. Likes: •About bloggers, so relatable! •Their first meetings. •I love how she was brought up Jewish but other than a line here or there it wasn’t forced on the reader, and she wasn't a stereotype. •Reid was sweet and adorable and taught Andi what was REALLY important. •I love a single mom book. •Some really funny moments. •Smart and original. •I loved the side characters. •Getting into a little about the blogging business. Dislikes: •She kept up the lie way too long and I started to think she didn’t deserve him. •Made me feel like a shitty blogger. •Such a generic title for a unique book. The Down & Dirty: I loved the concept for Hot For His Girl and I was totally in love with the first ⅔ of the book until she kept her anonymity a little too long and that anonymity turned into lies. I did start to get frustrated, but I still enjoyed the read and had trouble putting it down. Hot For His Girl had a very unique and memorable story, but I doubt I will remember anything from the cover given its bland title that has nothing to do with the story. It was also great having a Jewish person in a story that isn’t an over-the-top meddling grandma. Despite my few reservations, I really did enjoy this book and you don't have to be a blogger to appreciate it! He stumbles upon Andi's blog when he's trying to decide to go anonymous. Little does he know, she's actually the woman he ran into when her daughter came trick or treating on Halloween. Hot For His Girl sucked me in right away and I loved how much humor this book had. Between the blog posts and Andi's thoughts, this book had me laughing out loud. This book also gave me all the feels. I'm not a mom, so I can't understand what Andi went through, but I could understand she has a hard time trusting men. Andi's daughter is the sweetest and I loved that she played a bigger part in the book. In a lot of romances the kids are mentioned and that's about it. As a single mother, it's only natural that Gabby is a big part of her life. Her friend Leona definitely completed this story. Reid seems like the sweetest guy. He feels an instant connection to Andi and doesn't want to let her go. Reid knows that Andi and her little girl are a package and that doesn't bug him at all. It was nice to see the guy insecure about a relationship as well. In these books it's normally only the woman who has her insecurties. Their romance starts off nice and slow and I love how it builds up. Even though this romance is pretty predictable (then again, what romance isn't?), I couldn't put this down. I finished this book with a smile on my face and was sad it was over. Hot For His Girl is a nice change from romances with all the angst. If you're looking for a sweet romance with lots of humor and sexy moments, I definitely recommend Hot For His Girl.

I received an ARC in return for an honest review, the words and opinions below are 100% honest and entirely my own. I want to start off this review by saying that before I came across this book via NetGalley I had not heard of, or read any of Rachel's books. I knew nothing of her writing style, but the synopsis for this book got my attention and I just had to try my luck and request an arc! I've never been so glad I took the risk! Because oh boy! That was one hell of a read! Hot For His Girl is a standalone novel, and tells the story of independent single mom Andi Schwartz who earns money to care for herself and her little girl as a sarcastic anonymous blogger, who spends a lot of her time calling other blogs out on their rubbish. She's built up so many walls in order to protect herself and her daughter. Reid Fellows is a statistics professor by day, and a shirtless easy on the eyes blogger by night, and potentially the sweetest man on earth (in my opinion.) When Andi's twin sister calls in an absolute tiz about the fact her husband has started following Reid's blog, convinced that her husband is using Reid's tips on grill and groom to help him attract another woman. Andi tells her sister that she's being ridiculous, but agrees to do some research into Reid and his blog to put her sister's mind at ease. As soon as Andi checks out Reid… I mean, Reid's blog, she's hooked. And then the two bloggers meet. Andi knows who Reid is, but he has no idea who she is, and so a web of love deception and betrayal begins to spin online and in real life... I have to say. This book is the cutest, funniest and most heartwarming book I have read in a while. I had all the emotions whilst reading this book... ALL of them! I truly loved this book and definitely intend to recommend it! I devoured it within 24 hours! If your looking for a five star, heartwarming romance guaranteed to have you grinning and feeling like a soppy idiot... this is the one for you! Congratulations on an incredible standalone Rachel!

If you're a Rachel Blaufeld fan, you will know that Hot for His Girl is a totally different direction from her previous books, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. What I love most is authors taking liberties and writing out of the norm, in this case, Ms. Blaufeld wrote us a rom/com. I was asked to BETA read very early on and after giving my thoughts, Ms. Blaufeld did me proud. I re-read it after ARCs went out and even more happy with the flow and direction this story took. Andi is literally my spirit animal. She's a blogger with the cutest blogger name "The UNAffectionate Blogger". After trying to write "nice" reviews, she knew that was NOT paying the bills. She's a single mom, and her daughter is her everything. Since there is no dad in the picture, Andi needed to step up her reviews, being a lot more HONEST, albeit with snark and humor. Some people may or may not appreciate it, but I was laughing out loud. As a former blogger, I was always honest with my reviews, but besides writing reviews for my former blogs, I am still a reviewer for a well know travel blog, and there I am brutally honest, like Andi. She separates her online life from her real life. Besides blogging that brings in most of her income, she does some part time billing work. Enter Reid, he's a Professor and he too blogs, but more of the video variety and it was all due to a dare. He loves grilling so why not make it fun and sexy. Reid encounters Andi's blog (although he doesn't know it's her) and contacts her via email. How to spruce of his blog and views. The real chemistry happens when they meet in real life, and boy sparks galore. Andi has to keep her cover from being blown, but she knows she eventually needs to tell Reid who she really is. I really enjoyed this read and as mentioned above, how Ms. Blaufeld wrote a rom/com. Don't get me wrong, I love her angsty books, but I really do love her rom/com style as well and hope she continues to write them when the moment hits her. **An ARC was provided for an honest review. Do not be fooled by the tenderness of Andonia Schwartz: behind a keyboard she transformed into the mysterious “Who grills shirtless? And who looks that good while he grills and writes about It? Do not be fooled by the tenderness of Andonia Schwartz: behind a keyboard she transformed into the mysterious UnAffectionate blogger. And her acid and anonymous comments are important to support her daughter only with the earnings of her blog. And everything is perfectly balanced in Andi's life until Reid, a statistician and also a blogger, comes on the field. With his grill recipes, his awesome abs, his shirtless posts with his funnys aprons and his geek charm, the guy is capable of destroying any heart. Including Andi´s. Some comments from Andi make you think the book will be hot. Far from it. The intimate scenes are not detailed and most of the book is focused on the relationship of the couple: how they know each other, in the dynamics of Reid with Gabi, in the secrets that Andi is hiding from the skillful blogger. Secrets that are not obscure and difficult to forgive, but which can become a major problem to the couple. A well-written and well-developed cliché with fluency and an interesting plot. Typical chick-lit, perfect for getting you out of a literary hangover. *ARC provided in exchange for an honest Review * https://avidezliteraria.wordpress.com/

More of a danger that her secret could be exposed. Example. Laptop opened when Reid comes over and Andi was in such a rush she forgot to close it. Yes it happened once. But that's it. She's a single mom. Forgetting is apart of their vocabulary and daily routine. Also, the steamy moments needed a little more power to them. No pun intended. While I enjoyed the story, the title should have been "The Bloggers' Zone." 3.5 STARS

And Reid’s connection to Gabby was adorable. With any HEA, there has to be a dash of drama with a side of angst. But that mixture is just a smidgen of their story. When two bloggers come together the way Andi and Reid do, if you can’t take the heat..... oh, you’ll love their heat, who am I kidding.

This was a cute, fun and light-hearted read. There was no OW/OM drama.
